Safeguarding Policy

Cricketqube is committed to creating a safe, positive and inclusive environment for everyone involved in our sessions — especially children, young people and adults at risk. We have zero tolerance for abuse, neglect or discrimination and we act promptly on any concern.

If You’re Worried about Someone

  • If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.

  • If you need non-emergency police advice, call 101.

  • You can also contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 for confidential advice.

To report a concern to Cricketqube, please email hello@cricketqube.com with the subject line Safeguarding. Include a brief description of what happened, when/where it occurred, and who was involved (only what you feel able to share). We will acknowledge your email and explain next steps.

Our Safeguarding Commitments

  • Safe people: All staff and regular volunteers are DBS-checked, trained in basic safeguarding and follow our Codes of Conduct.

  • Safe sessions: Activities are planned and risk-assessed, with adapted formats for differing needs and clear boundaries for behaviour.

  • Safe communication: We use age-appropriate, professional communication with participants and carers/parents, and keep clear records of concerns.

  • Safe venues & equipment: We work with host venues to ensure suitable spaces, accessibility and equipment.

  • Listening culture: We encourage participants and families to speak up, and we take all concerns seriously.

How We Handle Concerns

  1. Listen and record: We listen without judgement, avoid leading questions and note the key facts.

  2. Respond and report: We act in the best interests of the person at risk and report concerns promptly to the appropriate services where required.

  3. Confidentiality: Information is shared only on a need-to-know basis and stored securely in line with data protection law.

  4. Follow-up: We keep appropriate records and review any learning to improve our practice.

Photography, Video & Social Media

We obtain consent before using images or video of participants and never share personal contact details. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@cricketqube.com.

Safer Recruitment & Training

We follow safer-recruitment steps for staff/volunteers (references, DBS checks, role-specific induction) and provide regular refreshers on safeguarding, inclusion and professional boundaries.

Working with Partners

When delivering in schools, care settings or community venues, we align with the host organisation’s safeguarding arrangements and share information lawfully where this helps keep people safe.
